Mizzou softball releases 2024 schedule

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Tiger softball team announced its 2024 schedule on Thursday evening. The upcoming slate will include 15 home games, which will all kick off in the conference and home opening series against Auburn on March 8-10.

The schedule includes 55 match ups, 17 of which are against 2023 NCAA Regional teams.

Head coach Larissa Anderson and company's season will begin on Feb. 9-11 in the NFCA Leadoff Classic, which is played in Clearwater, Florida. That will be followed by the Mary Nutter Classic in Palm Springs, California on Feb. 22-24.

The 2024 season will also bring a homecoming of sorts of Anderson. She and the Tigers will return to her former home of Hofstra, as well. Anderson coached the Pride for 17 seasons, before coming to Columbia. Assistant head coach Sara Marino will also partake in that homecoming, as she played for Anderson at Hofstra from 2006-11 and was also an assistant there from 2017-18.

The Tigers will have a slew of non-conference road games, before opening up the Mizzou Softball Stadium on March 8. The SEC home schedule will bring four conference opponents to Columbia. Auburn (March 8-10), LSU (March 22-24), Florida (April 12-14) and Mississippi State (April 27-29) are all set to face Mizzou in front of its home crowd.

MU will hit the road to face Tennessee (March 16-18), Arkansas (April 5-7) and Georgia (April 12-14). The Tigers will wrap up the season on the road against South Carolina (May 3-5).

Anderson and company have quite a few solid mid-week matchups in 2024, as well. That midweek slate is highlighted by games against Illinois (March 13, doubleheader), Kansas (March 20) and Drake (April 10.

The 2024 SEC Tournament is slated for May 7-11 at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, Alabama.
