Mizzou guard enters the transfer portal after one season

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A team spokesperson confirmed that Mizzou guard Curt Lewis became the second Tiger hoops player to officially enter their name into the transfer portal, on Tuesday.

Lewis will look for a new collegiate home after just one season in Columbia. In that time, he saw action in 23 games, making two starts. He averaged two points per game and 1.4 rebounds, although he didn't see as much action in the back half of SEC play. The 6-foot-5 guard went 34 days without getting into a game from Feb. to March.

Before coming to Mizzou, Lewis was the NJCAA Player of the Year, following a standout season with John A. Logan in 2022-23. He led his team to the program's first national championship, scoring a season-best 27 points in the semifinals and registering a game-high 18 points in the title game.

The Kentucky-native will enter the portal as a graduate senior, as he also spent two years at Eastern Kentucky before transferring down to John A. Logan.

Lewis joins Tiger center Mabor Majak in players to enter the portal.
