Mizzou star Grace Slaughter set to return for fourth season

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou women's basketball coach Kellie Harper is hanging on to one of the centerpieces of her team for another season.

On Tuesday, the team announced that Tiger star Grace Slaughter will return to Columbia for her senior season. The Grain Valley, Missouri native is the first player to announce her intentions to come back for the 2026-27 campaign, so far.

For years, the 6-foot-2 guard has been the brightest star on the MU roster. In the 2025-26 season, the junior averaged 18.7 points per game, which ranked 6th in the Southeastern Conference, shooting at a 45 percent clip from the field. She also contributed an average of 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

In her junior campaign, Slaughter continued to ink her name into the Mizzou record books. Her 1,459 career points moved her to No. 12 on the program's all-time scoring list. Additionally, her average of 15.2 points per game over three years ranks ninth in program history, while her 151 career 3-pointers ranks seventh.

Slaughter has turned plenty of heads, nationally, since joining the Tigers. Just in the past season, she was a Second Team All-SEC selection and was also on the watch list for the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year award.

In her senior season, the guard will look to help take the Tigers to the next level in head coach Kellie Harper's second season at the helm.
