Eli Drinkwitz lands seventh commitment of 2025 recruiting class

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The month of April has been kind to Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz. Since April 4, the Tigers have earned seven commitments for its 2025 recruiting class, with the latest coming on Tuesday afternoon.

Four-star edge rusher Daeden Hopkins picked MU over offers from Penn State, Iowa State, Kanas State and Minnesota.

During his junior year, Hopkins tallied 67 total tackles, as well as nine sacks and five pass deflections. He's a threat on both sides of the ball for his high school team, though, as he totaled 691 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Hermann, Missouri native joins six other recruits in Coach Drink's 2025 class, which is now in the top-25 in 247sports' rankings. Hopkins is the fourth player from the state of Missouri or St. Louis area in that group.
