Mizzou volleyball advances to second round of NCAA Tournament

LINCOLN, Neb. (KMIZ)

The No. 8-seeded Mizzou volleyball team has a second round meeting with No. 1-seeded Nebraska on the books, on Saturday, following a 3-0 sweep over Delaware.

Both Janet deMarrais and Jordan Illiff paced the Tigers in the win. Iliff finished with 10 kills, adding on three aces and three digs, and deMarrais led the team with 13, adding on two blocks and an ace.

The Tigers have advanced to the second in eight straight NCAA Tournament appearances, dating back to 2013. With the first round victory, first-year head coach Dawn Sullivan improved the program record to 18-17 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.

Up next - first serve between No. 8 Mizzou and No. 1 Nebraska will be at 7 p.m. CT at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln.
