RECAP: Mizzou football ‘so close, but so far away’ from upset at Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. (KMIZ)

The clash between two Top-12 College Football Playoff teams did not end in Mizzou football's favor on Saturday. The No. 12 Tigers fell short of an upset against the two-time defending national champions, the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs.

MU played a close game in Athens, losing by just nine points after originally being tabbed as a 15-point underdog.

With the loss, head coach Eli Drinkwitz and company's hopes of capturing the SEC East is now out of their hands. ABC 17's Kyle Helms has a recap of the loss at Sanford Stadium, as Drinkwitz said the Tigers will look to shift their focus and pick up the pieces. You can watch that recap in the video player above.
