Majority of local football teams push back kickoff due to heat

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Rock Bridge Bruins announced that Friday night's season opener against Park Hill South will now be played at 8 p.m. due to the excessive heat lingering over Mid-Missouri.

Many other schools announced the same change for Friday. You can find a full list of adjusted kickoff times below.

  • Hickman vs. North Kansas City - 7:30 p.m.
  • Southern Boone vs. Odessa - 8 p.m.
  • Capital City vs. Warrensburg - 8 p.m.
  • Hannibal vs. Helias - 8 p.m.
  • Eldon vs. Fulton 8 p.m.
  • Smith-Cotton vs. Moberly 8 p.m.
  • Mexico vs. Centralia 8 p.m.
  • Salisbury vs. Tolton 8 p.m.
  • Battle vs. Park Hill 8 p.m.
  • Osage vs. Jefferson City 8 p.m.
  • Harrisburg vs. Cabool 8 p.m.
  • Maryville vs. Blair Oaks 8 p.m.
  • Knob Noster vs. Versailles 8 p.m.
  • Boonville vs. Pleasant Hill 8 p.m.
  • Montgomery County vs. Hemann 8 p.m.
  • South Callaway vs. Van-Far 8 p.m.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association said, on Monday, that if both teams agree to a later kickoff time, then programs are permitted to push the game back an hour.
