Boone County man files to run for the Missouri 44th House District in the Democratic primary

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Dave Raithel has filed to run for the Missouri General Assembly 44th House District in the Democratic Primary set for August 2, 2022.

“I am a “d” Democrat and more a Republican than the incumbent," Raithel says in a release. Raithel has been part of multiple campaigns as far back as 1972.

Raithel and his wife have lived in Boone County for nearly 40 years.

According to the Missouri Secretary of State website, Raithel is the only Democrat to file for the August primary. The only other person to file for the seat is Republican incumbent Cheri Reisch.
