Two injured after crashing into cow in Phelps County

ROLLA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two people in separate vehicles were injured on Wednesday after they crashed into a cow.

The crash occurred in the southbound lane of Highway 63 at County Road 7160 in Phelps County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The crash happened at 8:45 p.m. when a 2010 Subaru Impreza – driven by Kathy Dabbs, 64, of Lenox, Missouri – hit a cow in the road. Then, a 2003 Toyota Carolla – driven by Paul Foster, 64, of Houston, Missouri – tried to avoid the cow, but ended up hitting it and the Subaru, the report states.

Dabbs suffered moderate injuries and a passenger in the Toyota – Angela Stewart, 52, of O’Fallon – suffered serious injuries, the report states. Both were brought to Phelps Health in Rolla by ambulance. Dabbs and Foster were wearing seatbelts, Stewart did not, the report states. Both vehicles were totaled.
