Illinois woman killed in Phelps County crash, man suffers serious injuries

ROLLA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Decatur, Illinois, woman was killed Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash in the westbound lane of Interstate 44 at mile marker 187 in Rolla, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The driver, Kasey Cloud, died in the crash, according to the report. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Phelps County Coroner, the report states. She was 27. Cloud was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.

The crash occurred as Cloud lost control of her 2004 GMC Sierra, hit a concrete barrier, went off the right side of the road and hit an embankment, the report states. The GMC overturned multiple times and partially ejected Cloud and ejected another passenger, the report states.

A passenger -- Ricky Dunn, 30, of Decatur – suffered serious injuries and was brought to Phelps Health Hospital by ambulance, the report states. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Two children – a 3-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy – had minor injuries and were brought to Phelps Health County Hospital by police, according to the report. The children were secured in car seats, the report states.

The GMC was totaled.
