Inmate dies at Jefferson City Correctional Center

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Corrections announced in a Thursday press release that an inmate has died at the Jefferson City Correctional Center.

The DOC said Mark Immekus died at 9:56 a.m. Thursday. He was 66. The DOC said he was serving a 60-year sentence for assault, armed-criminal action and felonious restraint.

He was received by the DOC on Dec. 21, 1998, according to the statement.

The DOC said in the release that an autopsy will be performed.
