COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Broadway Brewery announced on its Facebook page on Wednesday that it will reopen 4 p.m. Thursday.

Lushen Claridge, the son of owner Walker Claridge, died in a car accident over the weekend. Broadway Brewery posted a photo of Lushen in its announcement. The brewery had initially closed on Saturday and posted a black square to its page.

"As many of you know the Broadway family suffered a tragic loss last Saturday," the Wednesday post read. "Walker’s son Lushen Claridge passed after a car accident on Saturday morning. Lushen not only grew up in The Brewery but was one of the brightest young stars in our kitchen staff and loved by all."

The establishment thanked the community for its support. There were hundreds of comments -- between both posts -- of people giving their condolences and support.
