Missouri Task Force 1 to head home on Friday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Missouri Task Force 1 is coming home.

Forty-five members of Task Force 1 were deployed to Louisiana on Tuesday to assist in rescue and emergency services as Hurricane Francine made landfall.

Boone County Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Gale Blomenkamp told ABC 17 News in a text message that Task Force 1 was given demobilization orders on Thursday. They will begin heading home on Friday and are expected to be back in Missouri on Saturday, he said.

"MO-TF1 spent Wednesday and Thursday in staging, ready to respond to any mission assignment. Thankfully, the team did not need to be deployed for emergency operations and received demobilization orders Thursday afternoon," a social media post from the Boone County Fire Protection District says.
