Natural gas rates to be reduced June 1 for Ameren Missouri customers

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Ameren Missouri customers will begin to see natural gas rates drop on Thursday, June 1, according to a press release from the Missouri Public Service Commission.

Residential customers currently pay approximately $0.95 per hundred cubic feet of natural gas. According to the release, the rate will drop to approximately $0.63 per Ccf, a reduction of approximately $0.32 per Ccf.

The cost local natural gas companies must pay to its suppliers for natural gas is not regulated by the PSC -- the release states -- is primarily driven by supply, demand and the weather.
