Kansas City lifts some COVID-19 restrictions
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Some COVID-19 restrictions in Kansas City have been lifted.
Mayor Quinton Lucas says bars and restaurants will be able to return to normal hours.
Kansas City will also lift size limit restrictions for events or gatherings.
The seven-day case average of new COVID-19 cases in the city has been cut in half over the last two weeks.
A face mask order is still in place.
Mayor Lucas says the city will continue to watch for violations.
Mayor Lucas says, "Even if they're open at 1 a.m., where people aren't wearing masks, and they're not following social distancing, the health department will get there, or the regulated industries will get there."
Those new policies are expected to start 10 p.m. Friday.
