Missouri woman charged for taking part in last week’s riot at US Capitol

SULLIVAN, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Missouri woman is facing federal charges for her part in last week's riot at the US Capitol.

21-year-old Emily Hernandez of Sullivan is charged with the following five counts:

  • knowingly entering of remaining in any restricted building or grounds,
  • disorderly conduct which impedes the conduct of government business,
  • steal, sell, convey or dispose of any thing of value in the United States,
  • disruptive conduct in the Capitol buildings,
  • parading, demonstrating or picketing in the Capitol buildings.

According to court documents, at least two people submitted tips against Hernandez in the investigation. Multiple people also sent in tips identifying Hernandez to the FBI.

The FBI says the nameplate will cost $870 to replace.
