Columbia City Council approves airport restaurant agreement
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Columbia City Council on Monday approved a company to lease part of the new terminal in Columbia Regional Airport for different food options.
At Monday night’s meeting, officials authorized an agreement with Blue Ribbon Vending, L.L.C.
In an updated memo, it was described that the company will pay the city around $9,000 for the market area.
According to the council agenda, Phase 1 includes a market area that Just Walk Out Technology will operate 365 days a year with operating hours and staffing levels that support passenger activity at the Airport.
According to its website, “Just Walk Out” allows customers to grab items from shelves and leave without having to stop to check out. The website states customers enter the store with a credit card or by “hovering your palm over an Amazon One device.”
Phase 2 would add a kitchen to the facility-- offering hot foods. The two projects in total are expected to cost $24,313.
