Metzger faces additional child sex crime

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Ivan Metzger has been officially charged with first-degree statutory sodomy of a person younger than 14 years old.

Metzger, 76, was charged with possessing child pornography on Nov. 2. The Columbia Police Department said last week that Metzger would be facing additional charges.

Metzger is still being held without bond at the Boone County Jail. A confined docket hearing was held Tuesday. A counsel status hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the Boone County Courthouse.

A witness told police that he saw pictures of boys ages 8-12 posing nude in suggestive ways on Metzger's computer, according to a probable cause statement. Investigators found child pornography on the computer, including some of boys engaging in sex acts, the statement says.

Court documents say the alleged actions related to the sodomy charge occurred in between Jan. 1, 2012-Jan. 1, 2013.
