Christmas tree at Governor’s Mansion falls over due to wind

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Governor's Christmas tree has fallen over due to the wind earlier tonight.

Communications Director with Governor's Office confirmed the tree fell over due to the wind.

The tree is a 40-foot Norway spruce donated by Doris Baker of Desloge, Missouri. Ms. Baker decided to donate her tree because it became too large for her yard."

Chief Meteorologist Jessica Hafner said the wind reports at the JCMO airport around the time of the fall was around 38 mph.
