ROLLA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Phelps County prosecutor has charged a Rolla woman in connection with a Tuesday stabbing.

Krista Hardy is charged with first-degree domestic assault - serious physical injury and armed criminal action.

Phelps County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a reported stabbing on Tuesday on the 11000 block of South Highway 68 in St. James.

When deputies arrived they found a 73-year-old man with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Phelps Health and later University Hospital for treatment.

Investigators arrested Hardy in connection with the stabbing according to a release.

Detectives report Hardy stabbed the victim several times with the intent to kill, according to the release.

Hardy is being held at the Phelps County Jail without bond.

A docket hearing is scheduled for Hardy on Thursday.

Hardy does not have a defense attorney listed according to online court records.
