Police: Man strangled, threatened to kill woman
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man faces several charges after police say he strangled and threatened to kill a woman he was in a relationship with for four years.
Dominic Hunter, 37, allegedly strangled the woman for 30 seconds on Monday. The woman was heard screaming "let me go" by two witnesses, according to a probable cause statement.
Hunter also allegedly flattened three tires on the woman's vehicle and took her keys. He had a handgun and chased the woman around a parking lot, threatening to shoot her and the building.
Witnesses said they heard him say, "I'm gonna shoot you," according to the probable cause statement. There were also children in the building.
Hunter was charged with:
- Second-degree domestic assault.
- Two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.
- Four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
- Second-degree property damage.
- Fourth-degree assault.
He is being held without bond at the Boone County Jail.
