D-Day ceremony held in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The United States Exercise Tiger Commemorative Foundation held a D-Day tribute ceremony Tuesday at the Boone County Courthouse to remember the Normandy Beach landings that occurred June 6, 1944.

The ceremony kicked off with the ringing of a Navy bell, followed by a flower- and wreath-laying ceremony.

All veterans and their families who attended were given a medal, regardless of when they served.

This is the fifth year the USTF has held an official D-Day tribute.
