Special Olympics to be held in Columbia this weekend

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

More than 1,000 athletes will be in Columbia this weekend for the Special Olympics.

The event officially kicked off Friday night. This year's state summer games include volleyball, swimming, power lifting and track and field.

The games will be held at the University of Missouri and Hickman High School all weekend.
