COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Some residents will be able to resume curbside recycling on Feb. 1 while others will have to wait a week according to the City of Columbia Solid Waste Utility.

Officials say the department is now sufficiently staffed to offer a curbside recycling program on an alternating weekly basis.

Customers will receive a mailer to confirm their scheduled week for recycling collection.

Residents whose recycling pickup is scheduled for the week of Feb. 1 will then put out their recycling the weeks of Feb. 15, March 1, March 15, etc. Customers whose pickup is scheduled for the week of Feb. 8 will then put out their recycling the weeks of Feb. 22, March 8, March 22, etc.

On alternating weeks, customers can put their blue recycling bags and paper and cardboard bundles curbside on their regular weekly scheduled refuse pickup day.
