Local company donates food, money, and gifts to local students

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A company is working with Columbia Public Schools to help those in need ahead of the holidays.

EquipmentShare and Battle High School teamed up to give food to people today.

“Our goal was to provide a little holiday cheer for our neighbors and community, while offering them a safe avenue to give back to those in need,” Danielle Schlacks of the EquipmentShare leadership team said.

They handed out turkeys, milk, eggs, bread and other staple items.

The company has been working with the district since March.

The company says it also collected $4,000 and more than 1,400 pounds of food at a drive-thru holiday light show it hosted over the weekend.

“We wanted to spread joy to the community after a tough year,” EquipmentShare CEO and Co-founder Jabbok Schlacks said. “We hope this event helped accomplish that, even in a small way.”
