Columbia police arrest 21-year-old in Sunday shooting death

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Police in Columbia say they have arrested a 21-year-old man in the shooting death of a 64-year-old man after being called to a home for reports of a domestic disturbance. Television station KOMU reports that Samuel Ethan Brotherton was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the Sunday night shooting death of 64-year-old Rollin Thompson. Police say officers called to a home just before midnight Sunday found Thompson with a gunshot wound. Thompson was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
