Police: Two dead in Derby after apparent murder-suicide
DERBY, Kan. (AP) — Derby police say a man and woman are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in the Wichita suburb. Police Chief Robert Lee says police were called to the Trails at Derby Apartments Friday afternoon after a shooting. They found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She died later at a Wichita hospital. Lee says witnesses described a man involved in the shooting and police saw him at the Derby Golf & Country Club about a mile north of the apartments. Lee says the man shot himself in the head as officers pursued him. The investigation is continuing but Lee says the shooting is likely a domestic violence situation.
