TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Authorities say a 7-year-old boy was killed and two others were injured in a Topeka house fire. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that heavy smoke was pouring from the home when firefighters arrived Monday morning. Alan Stahl, of the Topeka Fire Department, said crews had been advised that there might be trapped victims. They attacked the blaze and found the boy and woman inside suffering from life-threatening injuries. The boy, Alexander Servantez, died at a hospital. A third person was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening while a fourth person escaped unhurt.
