Two killed in head-on crash in Pettis County

Both drivers are dead after a head-on crash in Pettis County late Tuesday night.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 58-year-old Smithton man was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado east on Highway 50, west of Monsees Road, at 11:30 p.m., when he crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a 2021 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 45-year-old Green Ridge woman.

Both drivers were pronounced dead on scene. The report states that both drivers were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Both vehicles were totaled.
