Five people injured following crash in Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Five people are recovering after a crash in Morgan County Saturday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Reports, the crash happened on Missouri Highway 52, east of Jefferson Street in Morgan County around 9:40 a.m.

Troopers say, 38-year-old Brandlee L. Stilfield, of Barnett Missouri, and 76-year-old James M. Lutz, of Tipton Missouri, were both traveling west on Missouri Highway 52 at the time of the crash.

Stilfield crashed his vehicle into the rear of Lutz's vehicle as Lutz was waiting to make a turn, according to Troopers.

Troopers say the impact caused Lutz to travel off the right side of the road and Stilfield came to a stop.

Lutz suffered minor injuries and was driven by a private vehicle to St. Mary's Hospital. Stilfield had three teenage passengers with him at the time of the crash. according to reports.

One 15-year-old suffered minor injuries and the other suffered serious injuries. Both Stilfield and the 13-year-old female passage suffered moderate injuries according to reports.

Troopers say the group was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital.

According to Troopers, everyone involved was wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
