COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Aliyah Boston is not off to the start she’d like in the Southeastern Conference. The reigning AP Player of the Year has been held to single digits in scoring and rebounding in her first two SEC games. It hasn’t hurt the top-ranked Gamecocks, who are 2-0 in the league and 14-0 on the season. Still, Boston acknowledges the frustration of what she calls “junk” defenses where three or four defenders pack the lane to make it difficult to operate. Boston hopes she’ll get back on track when South Carolina faces Auburn on Thursday night.
