Three hurt after crash on I-44 in Phelps County

ROLLA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Emergency crews took three men to the hospital after a crash on Interstate 44 in Rolla on Thursday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:40 p.m. near the 184-mile marker.

Troopers said a westbound semi-truck driven by Atseko Tsatenawa, 69, of San Antonio, crossed the median and flipped over. According to the crash report, an eastbound semi-truck driven by Ergash Kholmuratov, 45, of Brooklyn, New York, hit Tsatenawa's trailer.

Troopers said Kholmuratov and Tsatenawa were both taken to Phelps Health with moderate injuries. A Phelps Health spokesman told ABC 17 News on Friday morning both Tsatenawa and Kholmuratov were treated and released.

Crews flew Tsattenawa's passenger, Maneul Nkogo, 42, of San Antonio, to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

An MU Health Care spokesman said Nkogo was treated and released from the hospital.

According to the crash report, Nkogo wasn't wearing a seat belt.
