COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 1,040 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 458,819.

Missouri's COVID-19 positivity rate continues to fall, the state's seven-day rate hitting 9.4 percent Sunday. It was at 9.5 on Saturday, and 9.9 on Friday. Health officials have warned a rate above 10 percent signifies wide community spread.

No new deaths were reported on Sunday, keeping the total steady at 6,748.

The state continues to vaccinate Missourians, with at least 6.4 percent of the population inoculated, meaning 394,065 have been given at least one dose.

The state has given out 511,657 doses all together.
