UPDATE: One dead after shooting at Waffle House; another hospitalized

UPDATE: One person is dead and another person is injured after a double shooting at Waffle House on Vandiver Drive.

Columbia police said Anthony Desean Warren, 30, of Columbia, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police have not identified the second victim but said they received non-life-threatening injuries.

Columbia Police officers responded to the Waffle House located at 904 Vandiver Drive at 1:49 a.m. after receiving reports of a disturbance. As officers were arriving, Boone County Joint Communication officials advised officers that victims with gunshot wounds had arrived at a local hospital by personal vehicles.

According to Columbia police, the preliminary investigation revealed an altercation occurred at Waffle House during which time at least two shots were fired, striking two men.

Warren’s sister-in-law told ABC17 News Warren was a bystander when he got shot.

According to a witness, a security guard was inside the Waffle House when the shooting happened.
