State helping RR Donnelley employees find new jobs
One month after a major Jefferson City employer announced it will close its doors, the state is assisting employees in the search for new jobs.
RR Donnelley said in August it would shut down operations and lay off about 500 employees. The plant is scheduled to close Oct. 1.
The state’s career center staff met with RR Donnelley employees Wednesday to sign them up for Missouri’s job bank service.
The meeting was held behind closed doors and the media was not allowed inside.
In mid-August, the employment transition team held an informational meeting with workers and also held a job fair.
Employees told ABC 17 News last month that it will be difficult to find new careers that pay what RR Donnelley paid them.
