Two people are seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Audrain County

AUDRAIN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man and a woman are in the hospital recovering after being involved in a single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon around 12:30 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Reports, Samuel C. Atkinson 22, and Caryn D. Atkinson, 47, both of Laddonia Missouri both was traveling westbound on Route KK just West of U.S. 54 at the time of the crash.

Troopers say the crash happened as Samuel traveled off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected the vehicle, and caused it to then travel off the left side of the roadway.

The vehicle then hit an embankment before it overturned according to reports. Neither Samuel nor Caryn was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash according to troopers.

Troopers say Samuel was Transported by Audrain County Ambulance to a university hospital and Caryn was life-flighted by Hannibal to a university hospital.
