Man seriously hurt in dirt bike crash in Phelps County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 20-year-old Edgar Springs man was seriously hurt during a crash in Phelps County just before 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash happened in the 1500 block of Highway 72 in Rolla.

The report states the man was driving a 2022 Honda dirt bike. He was speeding out of a parking lot and lost control of the dirt bike. He then went off the right side of the road and hit a mailbox and some bushes.

The man was flown to University Hospital by Phelps Air with serious injuries.

The man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the report. The dirt bike was totaled.
