Mizzou safety medically retires from football
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou safety Isaac Thompson announced on his social media that he will be medically retiring from football after two years with the Tiger program.
The St. Louis native came to Columbia as a four-star recruit out of SLUH in the Class of 2022, however, he battled injury his entire time playing for head coach Eli Drinkwitz.
In 2023, in what would have been his sophomore campaign, he missed the entire year after getting surgery for a lower body injury. He only got into two games during his freshman year, making his debut against Florida.
In a social media post, Thompson said, "football has allowed me to meet so many great people throughout my life and go places I never would've been able to without the game. This isn't how I imagined my football journey to end but I'm grateful for every person and memory football has given me. I will miss playing the game..."
