A Columbia woman was charged and arrested after a Callaway County Sheriff’s deputy allegedly found her with about 1.6 pounds of methamphetamine in her car early Friday.

Lori Michelle Williams, 50, was charged with second-degree drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to drive within the right lane of a highway. She is being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond. An initial court appearance is set for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the probable cause statement, a deputy was heading westbound on Interstate 70 at 12:47 a.m. Friday when a sedan passed his vehicle and crossed the centerline twice.

The deputy pulled the car over near Millersburg around mile marker 137 near Millersburg, according to the probable cause statement. Williams allegedly said she was crossing the lane diver because she was looking for her glasses and that she was coming back from visiting someone in a St. Louis Hospital, the statement says. Williams allegedly told the deputy that her plates didn’t match her vehicle because they belonged to another car and that she had plates for other vehicles in the car.

The deputy checked the registration on Flock cameras and found that the vehicle was allegedly seen in Jefferson City around 6:40 p.m. Thursday, the statement says. Williams allegedly told the deputy that she was in St. Louis at 6 p.m.

A K-9 found about 1.6 pounds of a crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine in three locations in the car, the probable cause statement says.
