Tracking a foggy morning for some before widespread sunshine returns

TODAY: I'm tracking fog possible for some this morning, which is why a dense fog advisory will be in effect for most areas west and southwest of Columbia until 10 am. After this, mostly sunny conditions can be expected for the afternoon hours, allowing temperatures to warm into the upper 70s and low 80s as winds blow out of the north at 5-10 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking a mostly clear and quiet evening as winds shift into the southeast, blowing at 5-10 mph. These conditions will lead to temperatures dropping into the upper 50s and low 60s by the end of the night.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking another mostly clear day ahead on Memorial Day as winds continue to blow out of the southeast at 5-10 mph. This will boost temperatures into the low 80s by the afternoon hours before clouds begin to enter the area by the evening. This will mark the start of a more active pattern, as chances of showers and storms enter the forecast by Tuesday afternoon. Daily scattered rain and storm chances will continue from this point until the end of the week, before gradually drying up next weekend. Temperatures throughout this entire period can be expected to warm into the upper 70s and low 80s each afternoon.
