A couple of teenagers were charged with several felonies after authorities say they pointed handguns at several other teens in September at Auxvasse City Park, according to a probable cause statement.

Ryan English, 16, of Auxvasse, was charged with first-degree robbery, five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, five counts of armed criminal action and tampering with a victim. He is being tried as an adult.

Prince Samuels, 18, also of Auxvasse, is charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, five counts of armed criminal action and tampering with a victim.

English had an initial appearance in court Thursday morning by video from the juvenile justice center.

Samuels has a preliminary hearing set for 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13 at the Callaway County Courthouse.

The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office learned in September that there was an incident at the park involving guns on Sept. 6.

Several alleged victims said Samuels and English had handguns, pointed them at several people and threatened to kill them if the victims reported the incident, according to a probable cause statement. English allegedly pushed a gun into one of the victims’ back and told him to give him his shoes and backpack.

The accused teens allegedly were counting the bullets in each gun and stated they each had five rounds.

A deputy looked at surveillance footage and saw English with a black handgun and point it towards the face of one of the victims, as well as the victim taking his shoes off, according to the probable cause statement.
