A man accused of a Columbia murder in 2020 now has a trial date set for that case.

Rickey Murry, 50, is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2023. The jury trial is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond. A hearing was recently held Nov. 7.

Murry is accused in the shooting that killed Corey Jordan in August 2020. Police were called to Douglass Park at the time for a report of shots fired.

Police previously said around 100 people were around the area, some applying pressure to Jordan's wounds. Jordan was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.

A witness allegedly told police at the time that Murry was "creeping around and hiding behind trees and vehicles" before getting into a confrontation with Jordan and shooting him, according to a probable cause statement.
