Tracking a bitterly cold gameday ahead of a warmup next week

TODAY: Sunny and breezy with highs in the low 30s. Wind chills in the teens at kickoff this evening.

TOMORROW: Chilly in the morning with lows in the teens. Temperatures recover by the afternoon due to southwesterly winds, with highs reaching the mid-40s.

EXTENDED: Winds will be somewhat strong from the northwest on Saturday as a weak cold front moves through, bringing wind chills into the low teens by Saturday evening. On Sunday, with clear skies we'll wake up to temperatures in the teens, and the wind chill between 8-10 degrees. The polar air mass that's been sitting over us all week will finally work its way east, allowing the jet stream to flatten out and temperatures to return to near average in the mid-50s for most of the week. A low pressure system could bring a chance of rain on Thanksgiving with slightly cooler temperatures behind it on Friday. Right now, the rest of the holiday weekend looks mild, with temperatures getting back into the 50s next Saturday.
