Columbia Boone County Public Health & Human Services to hold vaccine clinics

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

As Missouri continues to see a rise in Flu cases, the Columbia Boone County Public Health and Human Services Department is holding vaccine clinics for those who need vaccinations.

According to Missouri's Health Department's most recent report, there have been more than 1,700 Flu cases reported between October 30th and November 5th.

Public Health and Human Services will be offering a comfort vaccine clinic to children ages 6 months through 18 years old who are anxious about needles or the process of getting vaccinated.

The clinic will be at Public Health and Human Services on 1005 W Worley Street, 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, and appointments are required.

The clinic will offer the COVID-19 and Flu vaccines for free. ID and health insurance won't be needed.

The comfort clinic is sensory-friendly and will have extra comfort measures available to patients including anxiety-reducing activities, private rooms for vaccination, and distraction tools.

Missouri has also reported over 4,300 COVID cases in the last seven days but Central Missouri still remains at a low community level.

The Columbia Boone County Public Health and Human Services Department will also hold a Monkeypox Vaccination Walk-In Clinic from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Elks Lodge at 4747 East Elk Park Drive.

The vaccine will be free and no insurance information or appointment will be required.

According to the CDC, there are currently 169 cases of MonkeyPox in Missouri.

If you missed the clinics on Saturday, Public health and Human Services will hold another Monkeypox Vaccine Clinic on Wednesday, Nov 16. at Arch & Column Pub and several COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics through December.
