Over 300 pounds of prescription drugs to be destroyed over the weekend

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Multiple law enforcement organizations took part in the drug take-back this past weekend.

The Jefferson City Police Department took part and successfully collected over 5 boxes of prescription drugs with the preliminary totals indicating nearly 100 lbs. of medicines.

Officials say this weekend’s collection raises the total from the last two events to over 350 lbs. of medicines.

In Moberly, the police department took back more than 263lbs of prescription medication was turned in to be destroyed.
