SUNDAY UPDATES: Over 1,200 new Covid-19 cases added in Missouri

The state now has a seven day positivity rate of 10.2% on Sunday. The change in positivity comes along with 1,270 additional confirmed cases bringing the total to 662,380 since the start of pandemic.

Health officials also recorded 149 new probable cases with a total number of 138,369 antigen test results being positive.

No new deaths were recorded Sunday. DHSS has recorded a total of 11,062 deaths in the state since the start of the virus.

The state dashboard says new cases are down by 3.6% over the past seven days. The positivity rate dropped by 0.9% in that same time, while tests are up 5.5%. 

In the state's healthcare system, 1,956 people are dealing with COVID-19 infections. Of those, 496 are in the ICU and 312 are on ventilators.

Sunday numbers show that 53.1% of Missouri residents have gotten at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine. For Missourians 18 and older that number is at 64.4% and 40.3% for those ages 12 to 17.

In total, 5,972,907 of the vaccine have been put into the arms of residents in the Show-Me State. In the past 7 days, the average daily doses given was 9,581.

  1. “Over 1,200 new Covid-19 cases added in Missouri” Is worded to frighten you, in spite of “new cases are down by 3.6% over the past seven days. The positivity rate dropped by 0.9% in that same time”. A thing you are very unlikely to see in corporate news media print, “Fewer than 1300 new Covid-19 cases added in Missouri”. Subtle propaganda, but propaganda none the less.
