Rep. Hartzler responds to CPS mask mandate lawsuit

CENTRALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler made an appearance in Centralia talking with agricultural group leaders to discuss water regulations.

During her appearance, Hartzler spoke about Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt's lawsuit against mask mandates in schools districts.

Hartzler says she believes the parents of students should have the power to determine if their child wears a mask or not.

"We want to keep kids safe we want to make sure that they're not sick but it doesn't feel right to have the entities requiring masks I would prefer that the parents have control over that, they know their children they know the health risk that they may have and that would be my preference," says Congresswoman Hartzler.

Hartzler is currently running for US Senate to fill the seat being vacated by US Senator Roy Blunt.
