Salem man charged with attempted robbery of a Columbia Walmart

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Salem man is charged Thursday for robbery after an incident at the Walmart Supercenter off Conley Road.

According to police, James Hanks, 37, of Salem, also threatened an employee while demanding money on April 29.

Officials say officers found and arrested Hanks on Tuesday for an unrelated warrant.

The Department’s Criminal investigations Division then identified Hanks as the suspect in the attempted robbery.

Hanks is charged with first degree attempted robbery.
