Thursday Cole County chase reached speeds in excess of 105 mph

A Jefferson City man has multiple charges filed against after a Thursday chase that reached speeds of 107 miles per hour that ended in Holts Summit.

Jefferson City Police say officers responded to Southridge drive Thursday for an assault and Germaine Morehouse left the scene.

Police chased Morehouse onto Highway 54, weaving into and out of traffic, reaching speeds of 107 mph and it ended in Holts Summit.

Court documents say he admitted to police that he was on cocaine and ecstasy.

Police say he was also involved in a domestic dispute beforehand. The victim said he assaulted her with a liquor bottle and strangled her before leaving the scene.

Morehouse is charged with second degree domestic assault, resisting arrest, operation a motor vehicle in a carelesss manner, fail to yeild to emergency vehicle, DWI and driving while license revoked.

Morehouse was not issued bond by the Cole County court.
