Columbia police report that a person was hit and taken to a hospital with unknown injuries after being hit near the intersection of Clark and Hanover Blvd.

Officials reports the road is not closed.

An ABC 17 News crew reports the victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Police on scene report no arrest has been made.

An officer reported that the pedestrian may have been in the road when he/she were hit.

  1. From the fire/ems scanner one learns: When the fire department was dispatched, they were told the victim was crossing the road. This happened west of the lighthouse car wash, on the north side of Clark Lane, away from any street intersections.

    Missouri state law Section 300.390 states that a pedestrian who crosses the road at any location other than a marked or unmarked crosswalk at an intersection must yield the right of way to all oncoming vehicles. That probably explains why the vehicle driver was not charged.

    I wonder if the victim will be charged with jaywalking.
